Public Works

Streets

Most road repairs and maintenance are conducted through partnership with Wise County. The City Council and Commissioner’s Court have jointly approved various interlocal cooperation agreements which allow the City to receive County staffing and equipment support for repairs in which the City buys materials.

Water

While the City does not have a public works department, we do contract with a third-party for required testing and maintenance of the City’s limited water system.

Sewer / OSSF / Septic

The City does not have a sanitary sewer system, so residents typically rely on on-site sewer options (traditional septic/aerobic). The City contracts with a licensed sanitarian to complete sanitary sewer inspections and plan reviews. OSSF applications can be viewed HERE.
