City Elections
The City Secretary serves as the Chief Election Official for the City of Aurora and is responsible for conducting all City elections as prescribed by the Election Code of the State of Texas. Municipal elections are held on the first Saturday in May of each year, as authorized by state law.
Upcoming Election Information:
The next General Municipal Election is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The first day to file for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is Friday, February 13, 2026, at 5pm. The last day to file as a write-in candidate is Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 5pm.
All open positions had an applicant and there were no applications filed in opposition. As a result, the candidates will be declared elected, and the election will be cancelled.
