Municipal Development District (MDD)

In November 2023, voters approved the establishment of the Aurora Municipal Development District and authorized a sales tax of half a cent on every sale within the district. This District encompasses all areas within the city limits of Aurora as well as regions within the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.

The Municipal Development District (MDD) is a vital component of our city’s growth and sustainability. Established to promote economic development, the MDD focuses on enhancing our community’s quality of life through strategic planning, infrastructure improvements, and public service initiatives.
